Don't "Litter" have your Pets Spayed or Neutered


Kittens, cats, dogs, and puppies will anxiously await your arrival hoping for a new home! Check them out! You may just find a new, best friend. For more information, call (918) 649-0986. check out the bulletin board in the pet department at Wal*Mart for pictures of those available. Adoption Fees: $40 for pups and $90 dogs (depending on size); $20 for kittens and $50 for cats.  Remember, PVHS requires spaying/neutering; once the procedure is done, a portion of the adoption fee will be returned to you!

PVHS members can assist those wanting to adopt in person on Thurs., Fri., and Sat.  from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. or Mon, Tue, Wed

The Poteau Valley Humane Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving the pain and suffering of animals through educational efforts as well as direct intervention. It is a community problem and we need the community's help to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love and care for them. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I agree and understand the following terms and conditions:

I will never use the animal for research or fighting.
 I will provide proper food, water, shelter and companionship.
 I will treat as a family companion and will not subject the animal to abuse or cruelty. 
 I will agree to spay or neuter the animal if not already done.
 I will not use the animal for breeding purposes.
 I will provide regular veterinary care.
 I will NOT tie the dog or cat to a leash, Rope or chain as a means of confining the animal, except for emergency, short term duration.
 If for any reason I am unable to keep the animal, I will NEVER sell it or give it away—I will return it to P.V.H.S

Note:  For dog or puppy applications: If your residence is more than 40 miles from Poteau Oklahoma please email pics of fence type, yard or other area that the dog/puppy may spend time in to poteaupets@clnk.com  This MAY expedite your application

Spay/Neuter policy:

Any animal adopted must be spayed or neutered by a veterinarian, with the cost paid by adopter. Poteau Valley Humane Society will provide a coupon to assist with the cost of spay/neuter. If the animal is an adult, such operation shall be performed within two weeks of adoption. If the animal is young, it shall be spayed or neutered at six months of age, unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian. Any animal not spayed of neutered may be reclaimed by the Poteau Valley Humane Society or an Animal Control Officer Without refund to the adopter.
